My sentiments exactly, Marley K. For whatever reason, evangelical Christians need scapegoats and whipping boys.

Their religion requires them to set themselves apart and above people who don’t follow their belief system.

They’re intent not only on morally judging me and other intrinsically harmless people like me, but on legislating their judgement to hurt us.

Evangelical Christianity has demonstrated itself to be a belief system of hatred, exclusion, and persecution.

Christianity in general isn’t necessarily similar, but at least in the US, evangelicals and their theologies of hatred and persecution are dominant in many regions.

It’s kind of hard to understand, actually, how the teachings of Jesus morphed into something so dark and horrible.

Evangelicals have certainly managed it, though. They’ve created a truly vile religion.
