My only question about this, though, is do any fire departments actually hire former inmates? I mean, even if their records were expunged, they would still have a big gap on their resume, and to prove their experience or qualifications for the job, they would need to cite their prison experience.

Since many municipalities have rules against hiring people with felony records, with this not disqualify prison firefighters from being employed after prison?
