My jaw just kept dropping further and further as I read into her statement about what caused the Civil War. As she nattered about how the Civil War had been about fighting for freedom, I literally shouted into the air that the Southern states rebelled against the United States demanding the freedom to enslave Black people. They fought the war so they would be free to enslave Black people?

Then I muttered, "You racist Republican pig," to myself.

Haley knows better. She's not stupid, she's just a Republican, meaning her morality and sense of humanity are withered and dying. As is any semblance of truthfulness.

She knows the Civil War was fought for the right to enslave Black people. But pretending it was abouy freedom and implying the South was in the right, she was simply saying what conservative, racist voters want to hear.

This is the Trump party now. The Republican Party has become the party of racist pigs, and Nicky Haley is all in.
