My go-to white wines, when I can find them, are Rheingauer rieslings, because they taste like my youth in Germany. They're bracing with a powerful acidic punch, lively in the mouth, textured, and aromatic, with a very long finish. One sip goes a long way.

That said, I generally prefer red wine over white, but the preference is slight.

My favorite wine critic these days is Konstantin Baum, a German man and YouTuber whose reviews and tasting videos are beautifully informative and a little passionate.

I happen to find him quite attractive too, so that's a bonus, even though he's straight and married to a woman. ;-) In the video below, he reviews a selection of Australian wines, and raves about one of the whites, which is quite reasonably priced and which he urges all wine lovers to include on their go-to list. I've never tried it, but I'm looking to order it.
