My friend Phaylen Fairchild wrote about the Young Turks problem yesterday, raising some interesting speculation as to what's motivating all the transphobia.

She suggests that the hosts and producers are chasing dollar signs, being provocative for the sake of publicity — and possibly a traditional broadcasting contract.

I don't discount that possibility. "Follow the money" is usually a pretty good strategy for figuring out strange behavior.
