My British friends are mostly not in favor of the monarchy, but they're definitely in favor of getting a four-day weekend this week. One of my friends went to a fabulous drag show last night and then painted the town a little red knowing he didn't have to work today.

I feel confident saying he would enthusiastically give up that perk to get rid of the trappings of colonialism and elitism.
