My Baltimore orioles are long gone, but I saw some hummingbirds a couple days ago. That’s not so unusual, because they do tend to leave after the orioles. It’s been a couple days though, and I think they’re gone now too.

I have a big sunflower seed feeder with round holes that birds poke their heads in to eat. I’m afraid to say that last summer, a sparrow somehow got its head in one and couldn’t get it back out again. Sadly, by the time I noticed, the sparrow had died.
