Moon Over chapter release and author’s notes!
Hey y’all! If you clapped for the first chapter of Moon over Berlin, this is a quick note to let you know the next chapter is live. We first met Ian and Dima when they were 16 and 12, respectively, in the US and the USSR. Looks like their paths may be about to cross! Check out how far 22-year-old professional officer Ian has come. No more skinny teen at Boy Scout camp.
Don’t forget, this is a both a thriller AND a romance. Expect the unexpected!
Here ya go:
Author’s Notes:
I’ve based a lot of Ian on myself, with some very important differences. Something much like this chapter actually happened to me shortly after I arrived in Berlin. Only I was running the Warning Center in the middle of the night, the Flankers actually did violate the border, and we really did send a CRITIC.
Every bit of the action in this chapter is authentic. At various times during my stint with the 690th ESW, we identified certain air-to-ground voice intercept as belonging to very senior Soviet generals. I’ve stripped most authentic jargon out of the dialogue just to keep it accessible for the general reader. I hope the bits I’ve peppered in aren’t too annoying.
