Author’s Notes:

My apologies for ending the last chapter in what seemed like a significant cliffhanger. As I serialize this novel for Medium, word-count often means I can’t stick with my manuscript’s original chapter organization. The play fight between Ian and Dima was not the original end of that chapter; it was just meant as a diversion to lead up to Ian’s big question.

Only after I posted did I realize that by “cliffhanger-ing” the ending, I was setting up expectations I wasn’t going to fulfill. I’ll chalk it up to a lesson in being careful about how I serialize.
