Medium occasionally takes measures to eliminate bot followers from your account, in order to give you a more accurate reflection of real followers. I don't know this, but it looks to me like they might have done that again recently. My own follower count dropped by a few hundred, so I'm assuming there was another purge of bots. Or, as somebody else mentioned who might know more than I do, it might just be a temporary glitch.
