Maybe, but just like with routine police brutality, I don't think training is a meaningful countermeasure. You can't train people not to be hateful. This theater manager did what she did because of some fundamental moral sickness within her. Just like cops brutalize people because of some fundamental moral sickness within them.

You can't train away that fundamental moral sickness.

I do agree that the theater chain should probably do a better job, if they don't already, training their employees to honor New Jersey non-discrimination law. But the only moral response to this manager's cruel actions is to fire the manager. And to make sure other employees know that if they treat customers like this they'll be fired too.

Of course, that could be what you mean by training, and if it is then I agree with you completely.
