Matthew 19:21 (NKJ)

Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

I have so often asked myself how these words have become twisted.

At least in the United States, the people most likely to oppose helping the poor are Evangelical Christians. How they square that with the Bible remains a complete mystery to me.
