Makes me wish I could have been in Manchester to help chase the guy out.
Here in the United States, at least so far, members of trans-exclusionary groups don’t dare show up at Pride. They know they would face a fiercely hostile reception.
I do occasionally hear a US gay man spouting some transphobic nonsense on social media, and of course we have Andrew Sullivan, an American even though he was born in the UK. But for now, people like them are outliers, as I’m happy to see they must be in Manchester.
The UK press need to get through their heads that the LGB Alliance are not an alliance of bisexual, gay, and lesbian people. The vast bulk of LGB people on both sides of the pond despise the Alliance. We despise them because they are about excluding transgender people, and we know that is NEVER going to be part of who we are.
