Lucky you! I used to see urban foxes every once in awhile in Detroit, but I've never seen one in the suburbs, and I don't see any out here in the country where I live now either.

Except ... The other day quite early in the morning I spotted something weird at the very end of my pretty long driveway. Some sort of animal loping along. It was too far away to see clearly so I zoomed in with my phone and snapped a few pictures, and when I looked at them, it sure did look like a fox!

I couldn't be sure, but I thought it might be.

Later that day, the creature came back, and I got a much better look at it. It was ... Get this: it really really big, really ugly cat.

I hate to call any cat ugly, but this poor thing would not want to look in a mirror for fear of dying of fright.

I mean, it's a cat that looks like a fox! Only with misshapen ears, and bizarre splotches on its coat. It's perfectly healthy looking and apparently well fed and cared for. But ugly? 😂

Now on the other hand, I wouldn't actually worry about a fox. But four days ago a different creature was spotted not 20 meters from my property.

A bear!

My neighbor saw it late at night driving back from work. I mean my neighbor was driving back from work, not the bear, which I believe was on all fours.

People have been spreading the word that he's been spotted around the village, and I'm hoping I don't have to take my bird feeders down.

Cuz I don't think a bear would chase a squirrel off the suet feeder. I think he'd gulp down the suet!
