Love this! It's weird how people might feel threatened by the transition of someone they used to be in a relationship with. It's an illustration, I think, of how fraught and present homophobia and transphobia are in our society.
I see you already have one response from a person who accepts that as just the way things are and perhaps should be.
But it's not healthy.
If a past partner has an intensely negative reaction to a current transition of somebody they're not even in a relationship with anymore, that's ... irrational pathology.
It's the same sort of thing that leads to stigmatization, discrimination, and rejection.
It would be nice if people could just grow up, could simply accept other people's sexual orientations and gender identity as ordinary and valid.
