Love the post, and entirely agree with your sentiment, so I hope you won’t get mad if I take a second to quibble the tiniest bit.
Despite certain stories in the Torah (the first part of the Old Testament), modern Rabbinical Judaism pretty much completely rejects the notion of divine punishment, especially large-scale catastrophic punishment.
Well, maybe “reject” is the wrong word. Maybe “brushes aside as irrelevant and moves on to positive spiritual experiences" is a better way of putting it.
While you’ll find a few exceptions among the ultra-orthodox, even the Chasidim practice Judaism primarily as a personal spiritual discipline.
“Judeo-Christian” can be quite a misleading label when “Judeo" is understood through a Christian lens.
Again, sorry for the quibble, but I’ve been thinking a bit lately about how profoundly Christians tend to misunderstand Jews, and how that misunderstanding can spread throughout society among people who are not even Christian.
