I had to laugh a little bit at the antics of your dog, but mostly because I was thinking about some of my dad's experiences with champion English pointers males who couldn't figure out how to do the deed. You know, breeders often used to fly males around the country, but the results were less than predictable so nowadays frozen sperm is usually flown around instead.

Maybe there's an analogy there to medical technology and fulfillment. I don't know.
