LGBTQ Catholic school and church staff being out and open about who they are when they’re hired is actually pretty normal in many of the recent witch-hunt cases. Many Catholic institutions are traditionally welcoming and accepting. The hierarchy is having kittens about that in the U.S., with a reactionary response that’s getting real people like Sue treated like she’s garbage on the bottom of somebody’s shoe.

It would sure be nice if Pope Francis would start firing bishops who do this, like he recently fired a bishop in Puerto Rico for being anti-mask and anti-vaccine. He has the power to stop the witch hunt in its tracks. But I’m not holding my breath.
