I just published the introduction to a series of articles I intend to turn into a book addressed to Christian pastors and lay leaders— to Evangelicals, Catholics, mainline Protestants, and Mormons.
I don’t intend to radically alter my challenging voice. I’m angry, and I want people to know that. But I also want people to feel the love I had for the faith of my childhood and to taste the devastation its loss meant to me.
I intend to fully leverage cold reason, hot emotion, and lived truth to change hearts and minds — and to move Christian discourse.
Yes, I suppose that’s audacious.
I’m audacious because I care for and love LGBTQ youth at risk. Because I was so at risk myself as a teenager. I tried to kill myself. Twice. I’ve never admitted that before.
