Kevin, I also loved both novels, and for many of the same reasons you did. I actually share perspective with “Boy Erased,” having also grown up Baptist and gay.

By the way, I’ve written a YA novella that treats the subject of gay conversion therapy. It’s very different from “Boy Erased,” but it hits many of the same themes.
