Kennedy is, astonishingly, an HIV denialist. He insists that the virus didn't cause AIDS, poppers did. I thought that silly conspiracy theory died out decades ago, but he continues to push it.

If anything demonstrates his utter unfitness to lead, that does.

Globally, we are winning the fight to suppress HIV, to reduce viral circulation to near insignificant levels. We have the medical technology to do that even without a vaccine.

Kennedy's bizarre beliefs about AIDS could set back that effort tremendously if he were to gain the presidency. Hell, he could set back the effort even without winning if he managed to popularize his bizarre beliefs.
