Just look at current attitudes toward men who stay at home with their children instead of working paid jobs. I mean, it’s not like men like this exist in anything like large numbers, but a handful exist and I’ve met a couple of them.

They are, pretty much to a man, subjected to extraordinary amounts of disrespect and jeering, both behind their backs and openly.

But if a woman does it? “Oh, good for her! What a great mom!”

The disparate reactions are really telling.
