Just as an aside, and not as criticism, but the label bisexual is generally now taken to mean attraction to more than one gender, and inclusive of attraction toward trans people. There are even pretty energetic arguments going on in queer communities that the label pansexual is divisive. I’m not saying it is, but the arguments are pretty fierce.

Your story is really cool, by the way and I’m glad I got a chance to read it. I spent the 1990s in New York City as a gay man and AIDS activist, and things were … really bad. It’s hard to describe.

I’m sorry about your uncle, and I’m really glad about your journeys of discovery.
