Just as a side note, but it's probably a bit unfair to classify this cinematic version of Dune as a "remake." Cinematographers have been trying and failing to film the Dune story almost since the novel came out. On the David Lynch version, like other attempts, was widely derided as an artistic failure, and while that may not be strictly fair, it certainly flopped at the box office
