Jesus had a few choice words for people who elevated the "law" over loving one another. Christians often condemn that kind of person as a "Pharisee," referring to a religious movement in Jesus's day that focused on obeying every jot and tittle of ritual laws instead of on loving God and neighbors.

It seems to me that's exactly what this math teacher is doing. She's somehow turned privacy for students into lying, elevating her religious observances above th needs of her students, by focusing on a "legal" technicality rather than on love.

By "legal" I mean biblical laws, but she's also doing this directly to challenge civil law where she lives. Her duly elected school board has mandated privacy for students. But people who oppose the existence of trans kids are doing everything they can to make life difficult for them by challenging laws and board policies.

This math teacher is doing exactly that, on purpose.

I can't imagine anything less like what Jesus would do.
