Je ne regrette rien has become a French standard, many artists interpreting it even right up until today. Well sung, it invokes both tears and joy. Piaf’s original take, even with her old fashioned trilled Rs and open vowels, sounds absolutely contemporary and tragically poignant. I’m listening to it again right now, thanks to you!
