I’ve read some articles lately by various gender-theory advocates and scholars asking people to take a look at how we might unintentionally harm people by making pronoun sharing seem mandatory in classrooms and social settings.

I can see how the practice could make people feel like they’re being forced to share information they aren’t ready or willing to give.

Tough question. Normalizing pronoun sharing is supposed to help people outside the binary. But maybe you’re agreeing that unanticipated consequences can be a problem?
