I've rarely thought about the implications, but one of my best friends is an autistic person who lives in India. We rarely if ever talk about autism, instead communicating about shared interests and supporting each other through life's joys and sorrows.

But it occurs to me now (as it has in the past) that one of the reasons we click and communicate well is that we're both autistic, and that we "get" each other.
