I've had a recent personal example of that. A new writer on Medium who is from Nigeria started following me and other Prism & Pen writers around, insulting us with homophobia and transphobia ... In starkly Christian terms.

Like most Christians on the subject of queer people, she's arrogant, judgmental, insulting, and deeply ignorant.

She wants us to "surrender" to her Jesus so we can live in "freedom."

Of course, to her, freedom means free to be cisgender and straight whether we really are or not.

Go to her profile, and all she writes about is how wonderful and loving her Jesus is.

I guess, that is, except for us faggots.

Seeing her example, it's easy to understand why queer Nigerians say they live with daily fear for their physical safety and even their lives.
