I’ve been using the example of fighter pilots lately, because it really turns stereotypes on their heads.

Air Forces all over the world, including in the United States, India, and Israel are finding that women excel so well as fighter pilots that they have begun actively recruiting among women.

They aren’t doing that out of a sense of fair play or gender equality. Militaries don’t work like that. They’re doing it because they want the best fighter pilots possible.

And in the process they happen to be illustrating that a lot of sexist assumptions about women are simply wrong.
