I’ve admired Perez’s work for a long time, Eric Griggs, but I’ve never met him or even corresponded with him.

I’m a much bigger consumer of fine art than of pop art, so sometimes connections strike me.

One reason I often tend to illustrate my articles with art reproductions is that I worry about using uncredited photographic images. There are royalty-free services available, but their offerings tend to be either very limited, or to run counter to my taste or interests.

So, I’ve almost accidentally started to illustrate my stories with paintings. I think I’ll make it a thing.

Aunty Jimothy’s queer art collective. Lol.

By the way, I intended another point about variety and about tropes in my story, but it may have been too subtle to be observed.

I’m wondering if you noticed.

I wanted to set up a potential tension or an expectation that the man in my story was going to act in some predatory way.

I wanted to show that not happening.

Just another example of not relying on tropes.
