It's very small town. Three cops should be enough policing for a while. Where I live in rural Michigan, towns of that size are largely policed by county sheriff's departments anyway. They'll be all right.

So, here we have a mass resignation by police officers who want to impose their will over that of elected representatives and the voters. The cops are trying to bully the town. Racist? I suppose so. But even if their motivation were not racism, insisting on the right to choose the town's leadership disqualifies them from their positions of public service and safety.

They clearly don't understand their role.
