It's so hard to imagine any real historian claiming with a straight face that the US Constitution is somehow a Christian document. It's not like there was any doubt at the time that the founders intended for the United States to be governed as a non-sectarian, diverse nation, privileging no religion. They said as much, often and forcibly.
They left the word God out of the Constitution, and later said they did so on purpose.
Yet the myth of the "Christian nation" keeps rearing its head.
