It's sad that this movement seems to have self-destructed. It used to really be inspirational. Even though I never officially took up the challenge, I did write a novel almost completely during a challenge period several years ago.

Also, as Esther Spurrill-Jones pointed out to me the other day, The group has accepted a sponsorship from an AI writing company! This company has the audacity to claim that opposing AI writing is "ableist."

In other words, the group is now officially endorsing plagiarism on a massive, automated scale — with the added indignity of claiming that people who oppose plagiarism are somehow hurting disabled people.

That was certainly the last straw for me. I will never have anything to do with this horrible group again.
