It's really rich watching people try to claim gay people are being hurt by homophobia when many of those same people are just homophobic as fuck.

I don't mean Rowling particularly. She's ignorant and disingenuous at the same time. She doesn't know shit about lesbians and gay men. She just hates trans people, and anything she says has to be viewed through that lens.

I'm thinking about the trans-exclusionary group LGB Alliance. They originated or at least popularized the claim that supporting transgender people or transgender equality is homophobic.

Yet they partner with some of the most transparent, unapologetic homophobic organizations on the globe, including right-wing religious groups that argue in favor of imprisoning and executing gay people in Africa.

So the LGB Alliance's concern about homophobia rings more than hollow. The principals of that organization are without principle. The only issue they care about or that unites them is fierce opposition to the existence of transgender people.

One thing I know. If a group like the LGB Alliance wants to partner with extremist homophobic bigots, they have lost any moral ground to talk about homophobia.

Another thing I know. When we gay people need help fighting homophobia, the last people we're going to go to for help are transphobic haters. They don't have our best interests in mind, and it takes a particularly brain dead person to think they do.
