It’s pretty crazy. People are uptight about nudity here. When I first lived in Germany, I was pretty shocked by a lot of the open nudity in parks in Berlin. Then my friends took me this spa called Das Blub, and I really got an eyeful.

I learned fast, and by the time I started to take trips to the Greek islands, I was an old pro.

A few years later, I had to explain to a German family on a Cape Cod beach that it wasn’t OK for them to change out of their swimwear in the open. They looked at me like I was deranged. ;-)
