It’s hard to imagine what Australia is thinking here. I’m by no means a fan of Facebook or Big Tech in general, but posting links is the whole point of the Internet in a certain respect.

Hell, I promote my own stories all the time, and I want people posting links because it gets me readership and ultimately gets me paid.

Every now and then my stories end up in the Google news feed, and when that happens I’m thrilled. Obviously.

Click rates soar. I don’t need Google paying me, they already did by showing people my work.
