It’s funny, I was just responding to somebody else on Medium on a different subject, telling them that growing up as a gay, autistic child and adolescent shaped me through trauma.

It’s been decades since I was that weird kid taunted and bullied in school, but even though I grew out of being the picked-on ugly duckling, even though I eventually formed warm, queer circles of friendship, the trauma that shaped my thinking and being never entirely evaporated.

So, trauma bonding. A very interesting way of looking at things!
