It's frightening to me how this viral disinformation story (that reportedly originated on WhatsApp before making its way to Twitter) unleashed so much fervent joy from conservative Christians. It's scary to see so many people publicly rejoicing that queer or queer-allied Christians died by fire - even though that's not what actually happened.

I don't even know what to say, other than to express my fear.
