It’s amazing to me how people so often feel that some members of our society are less entitled to the benefits of it than others are. It’s more amazing how casual and entitled the thinking is.

People who come from a position of privilege don’t get it. It’s like they don’t understand that their own unearned advantages in life (prosperous families, access to health care, education, transportation, etc) aren’t shared by everyone and don’t actually say anything good about them as people.
