It’s amazing how different the Black experience in the United States is with law enforcement than the experience I grew up with as a white man.
I don’t know how I would feel today if I hadn’t experienced life in New York City and Detroit where I personally witnessed police officers targeting my Black friends just for being Black. Even then, it took years for the reality of it to sink in with me. I kept believing that each incident I witnessed was isolated somehow. It took a long time for me to admit the truth to myself.
I guess maybe things are a little easier now that cell phone video shows police brutality off so well and often, but we still have to have movies like this to shake up people’s worldviews.
Thanks for the review!
