It’s already started. Women in Texas are being turned away from abortion clinics now. Women who have every human right to decide not to continue a pregnancy or being forced by the state, right this minute, to do it anyway.

I watch the news report yesterday, and many of these women are rightfully afraid to have their faces broadcast. The shame imposed upon them for trying to exercise a fundamental human right keeps their faces in the shadows.

The tragedy here is that as a nation, we very probably will do nothing about this. This will just be the new normal in Texas and increasingly in other states. Even though a large majority of Americans supports reproductive freedom for women.

That says something about our democracy and about our collective lack of morality.
