It’s all so culturally specific too. I’m an American, but in my early adulthood during the 1980s, I lived in Berlin for five years as part of the US military.

I noticed pretty fast that lots of young German women only rarely shaved their body hair. Spotting fuzzy legs and armpits was unexceptional in warm weather.

While I found that a bit odd at first, it wasn’t long before I didn’t even notice anymore.

It would be nice if we could get to that place in the US!
