It might be helpful to remember that some of the people complaining about trans women in school sports are the very people who freak out about elementary and middle school age girls playing on boys teams when they want to.

There’s no physical reason the average 12-year-old cis girl can’t play baseball or soccer with boys, have fun, and be competitive.

Yet often when girls want to play sports with boys, they’re shamed and stopped — not because they couldn’t succeed at it but because they’re violating gender rules.
