It doesn't give you the right to kill that person, and it certainly doesn't give you the right to chase them down and shoot them in the back. I guess this shouldn't need to be said, but obviously it does need to be sad.

Shooting somebody in the back while they are running from you is not self-defense.

And murder is not the penalty for theft.

This ought to be basic, but our society is out of control when it comes to guns and gun violence.

Then throw racism in, and violence sparks into a roaring bonfire.
