It could have been any number of things. He wasn’t doing any drugs when I was there, but he was dead broke, so who knows. He probably just didn’t figure a guy all the way across the continent had anything to offer that could actually help. I got some referrals lined up for him, to agencies that could assist him, but that’s really not much.
