By the way, I’m the sort of big-hearted doofus who takes turtles to the vet. my dog wants to attack a small turtle and cracked its shell.

I actually took the poor guy to the vet where they glued his shell and gave him antibiotics. The turtle recovered and ended up perfectly fine, and my bank account ended up a couple hundred dollars lighter. ;-)
