It absolutely is hard! You’re not wrong or misinformed or anything for thinking that. It’s also okay to be tired and to pass the baton. We can’t all do everything at once. Peter Staley didn’t defeat AIDS. Anthony Fauci didn’t defeat AIDS. Larry Kramer and Ann Nothrup didn’t either, but it’s probable that none of them would have succeeded without the efforts of the others, or without the efforts of thousands of lesser known advocates, activists, and scientists

And, you know, sometimes during the 1990s I went to Provincetown and did nothing but lie on the beach for two weeks.

It’s okay to take care of yourself and admit fatigue.
