It absolutely is. I am disgusted and horrified when people I know insist I am a sinner because of who I am.

One popular writer on Medium, Ryan Fan, has insisted that I am a sinner because I’m gay. Since he took that hateful position, I’ve never read another word he’s written.

Know what’s really crazy? Ryan is Asian. If I ever tried to tell him he was inherently inferior or sinful because of his race, he should quite rightfully hold me in disdain. I would deserve it.

Ryan and other Christians like him deserve to be held in disdain and to be loathed by civilized, decent people.

Yet for some reason homophobic pigs like Ryan and other Christians like him feel not just entitled but self-righteous about slinging their hate speech.

But religion is no excuse for homophobia and must never be.

Any religious person who calls any LGBTQ person a sinner is a piece of shit on the same level as a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

KKK members justify their racism with Christianity too.

They don’t get a pass, and neither do homophobic bigots.
