A really scary part of this story is that this guy's call for death is all over social media. His message has been amplified by factors of thousands. Sure, lots of people are opposing it, but lots of people are supporting it too.

For a pastor of a small church, he sure got his message out. I've seen it hundreds of times in the last couple days.

Combine that with the knowledge that a truckload of self-described "Christian nationalists" were intercepted over the weekend in Idaho on their way to assault people at a Pride event. 31 of them (in police style armor and riot gear) were arrested after police were tipped off. Also over the weekend, members of the Proud Boys terrorized a drag queen story hour for children in a public library near San Francisco. They physically threatened the organizer of the event and chased him out of the library. Parents who brought their own children to have stories read to them were scared out of their minds.

Words have consequences, and the Christian right is guilty of inciting violence.

Shameful behavior on the part of people who claim to be Jesus followers.
